Description: It is a deciduous tree with a rounded crown, very irregular. Its trunk is often tortuous, with rough, dark gray bark. Its leaves are simple, lanceolate and are light green on the front and back. Flowering occurs mainly in February, before the new leaves sprout, with white or pale pink, fragrant, solitary or geminate flowers. Its fruits are ovoid drupes -the almond kernels-, between 3 and 4.5 cm long, grayish green in color, containing one or sometimes two edible seeds -the almonds- and ripen between September and October.
