Origin: South Asia, from Pakistan to Thailand

Description: It is a deciduous tree with a rounded and irregular crown. It loses its foliage at the end of winter. Its bark is smooth and finely fissured, gray in color. The leaves are simple, bi-lobed, 7 to 20 cm long and medium green in color. Flowering occurs in autumn and early winter. The flowers are very showy and fragrant, measure 9 to 12 cm in diameter, are purple, pink, lavender or white and are arranged in clusters of six to twelve flowers, up to 40 cm long. Its fruits are brown legumes, 20 to 30 cm long, which remain on the tree until late winter.
