Triangular Stemmed Palm – Neodypsis Decary
Origin: Madagascar
Trunk dimensions: Consult us
Description: Plant that grows upright and with arched leaves. It is a palm tree commonly known as the triangle palm. It comes from the forests of Madagascar. Some wild specimens grow up to 15 m tall. Its cultivation is relatively recent, so, outside its natural habitat, it is rarely found in this size. Leaves are about 2.5 m long, growing upward from the trunk and arching gracefully outward about 1 m. The base of the leaf is supported by three vertical columns that emerge from the main trunk in groups of 120 degrees, giving the trunk its characteristic triangular shape. The branches of the inflorescences arise from the axils of the lower leaves. They produce yellow and green flowers that then create a rounded black fruit about 25 mm in diameter.
