Description: Palm with a more or less smooth and somewhat ringed stipe near the crown that can reach 5 to 9 m in height and about 20 to 30 cm in diameter, gradually widening towards the base. Leaves of adult specimens orbicular, 1 to 1.5 m long, long pendulous leaflets, prominent yellowish midrib, giving it a very ornamental appearance. Petiole 1.5 m long, triangular in section, with more pronounced spiny teeth towards the base. Inflorescence arising from between the leaves, 1.5 m long, with creamy yellow flowers. Spherical to ovoid fruit, about 2.5 cm long and bright bluish green. Its growth is slow, needing approximately 10 years to reach 5 m in height.
